You might have heard the saying that you have the same 24 hours as everyone else on earth. You have the same 24 hours as Bill Gates, Donald Trump and Michael Jordan, so you had better use these to the best of your ability. The problem isn't a lack of hours in the day it's that your time is not very well organised, you're not making very good use out of the limited time you have every single day. To get more time out of every day learn to say no, start early and repeat what works.
As soon as you get comfortable saying no to new distracting opportunities, choices and tasks the better. I'm definitely not saying you should say no to any new opportunity but if you have a business that is making you money and you get sidetracked with a completely unrelated business opportunity or project that's bad for you. I know many people who always get approached for different offers or products, and opportunities and they will agree to something they don't want to agree with out of fear that they will anger someone else. It's completely okay to tell someone no I don't have time right now, no I'll get to that later or no that doesn't fit in with what I'm doing right now. Your time is your own and if someone wants to steal your time away from you that shouldn't be something that you agree with.
The next thing you should do is start early and I mean that in several ways. You can start early in the day, start early in the week and start early on any project. I found that when I wake up an hour early to get things done I'll get a lot more done compared to if I stay up one hour later. For some reason if we're burning the midnight oil so to speak, and we're taking extra time to complete something we feel rushed, we feel too much pressure and we're not happy. But if you have the attitude that you're getting something finished ahead of time, early, you're being smarter than the average person, then now you're growing and you're getting ahead. Instead of working late start early in the day and get your easy tasks finished so that you don't have to worry about projects in the future.
As you're making this consistent progress, you're being productive, what you should do is keep repeating what works and stop repeating what doesn't. This means that if you are actively maintaining ten different websites and only two of them are making money then you should spend most if not all of your time on those two sites that make you the most money, and grow and build those because life is too short to maintain two money making sites and eight sites that don't make money. Focus on what makes you money and stop repeating those nasty patterns of putting your time into sites that don't make you any money. Repeat what works, stop repeating what doesn't.

If you're feeling overwhelmed or that you're running out of time, or that you just don't know what to do next then that means that your life is too busy, too overcrowded and the one thing you might have heard from people is that you need to outsource yourself. You need to hire someone to answer emails, hire something to pay your bills or answer your other mail and a better solution is instead to use technology to automate as much as your life as possible because this is mostly free and accomplishes the same goal. The goal that you have more free time, time to think and time to do what you've always wanted. To automate yourself, automate those things you can such as bills, schedule, organise and plan ahead and systematise what's left.
The number one thing you can do if nothing is automated is automate your bill payments. The majority of monthly bills that you have to pay including your mortgage or rent, your utility bills, taxes and entertainment can be on automatic pilot. These companies actually prefer if you set up some kind of recurring payment and put your bank account details or credit card information on file because the computer does all the work. The computer bills everyone for them and for you, and all you have to worry about is having enough money in that account.
You're going to pay those bills anyway, why take the risk of having late payments, being stressed out or having to worry or think about paying those bills when you can just have money in the account and have it get deducted. For those few bills that do not offer automatic billing can still receive your automatic bills. What you can do is go to your bank, and most banks have a bill paying system where every month they will send a certain amount of money to a specific address. For those bills that you pay that are about the same every month where they won't automatically charge you, you can send these without you having to do anything.
The next thing that will help you automate your life is to schedule as much as possible. I use a tool called Google Calendar and most of my life is on there. I don't over schedule, I don't schedule silly things like free time but if I have to be somewhere, if I have to present something or go to someone's party, or hang out I will put that in the calendar. That way I won't have any surprises. A pop up will appear the day before or an hour before something happens so that if I have to do anything from getting on an airplane to calling someone on the phone at a certain time, it's all scheduled and organised.
Many times I'll schedule things that are even a month or two away. If I have to check on something in three months I'll schedule that in my calendar today so that I don't have to worry about it between now and that three month period. What's also great about a tool such as Google Calendar is it can sync to your various mobile devices like tablets and phones, and other people can share their calendars with you and vice versa. This means if you want to have a calendar for your family, for your spouse, for your business partners, you can view it all on one screen.
I'm not saying that you will be able to completely automate your entire life. For example I update a blog regularly and for that blog I want to be the one that writes the articles. When you have tasks that you really do have to complete what you can do is systematise these or create a checklist. Let's say that you made money setting up websites and you went through the same steps every single time. Well make a list of those ten or twenty steps that you take and that way, when you're setting up a website, you do it quickly, you do it the same way every time and if you ever got to the point where you wanted to outsource you just have to give someone your checklist or system for doing that.
To automate your life and your business automate what you can, schedule and get organised and systematise any task that you actually have to complete yourself. Many people admit that they are procrastinating and some are even proud of that fact but in the long run you don't want to be a procrastinator. Procrastinators are unreliable, unproductive and are generally very unhappy people. If you want to cure or fix your procrastination there are three easy things you can do. Balance and justify the pain verses the pleasure of any activity, interrupt your thought patterns and light a fire under your butt to get motivated.
Every activity that you undergo is judged based on pain verses pleasure. Think about it, if your problem is that you can't bring yourself to go to the dentist it means that you're associating more pain with going to the dentist and pleasure with not going to the dentist. You need to adjust the scales in your favour by justifying it logically and then thinking about it emotionally.
Here's what I mean. If you don't go to the dentist you'll get a cavity and that cavity might turn into a root canal which will be very painful, very expensive and you might lose your tooth. If you go to the dentist, especially if you go to the dentist on a regular basis it will cost much less, you'll have a lot easier trip and it won't hurt as much. You'll avoid getting cavities, avoid paying lots of money, so in the long run going to the dentist might actually be fun. If you can make an agreement with yourself that after you go to the dentist you go to the mall or go to the store and buy that favourite shirt you've always wanted, well now you're associating something that you didn't want to do with something you do want to do with a reward.
Any task that you find yourself dreading or not wanting to do can always be justified in a much better light. Many people who are fanatics about starting their own business are fine with waking up early or staying up late to build their company so they can earn their freedom and a full time income, and be able to do all the things they wouldn't have been able to do before.
This thinking of, and looking at, your activities in a new way is called a pattern interrupt. This means that for most of your life, most of your existence, you have accomplished things in a set pattern. You wake up in the morning, you brush your teeth, you take a shower, sit down, get a certain kind of coffee, you take the same route to work when you drive. You're stuck in a pattern and the only way to change your thinking is to change your pattern. This means that you might want to change your schedule. Maybe you can start dedicating every Saturday morning to building your business. This might mean you need to get a mentor or join a mastermind to get a new perspective on things, to get some new advice and that will change your pattern as well.
Many of us have been in situations where we were complacent and comfortable in one way of life and something hit us hard. The death of a family member, a sudden financial disaster, any kind of good news or bad news changed our way of thinking and put us in a new direction, and usually a better direction. This sudden change is what causes many people to finally get motivated, get self motivated and keep doing the things they know they should do. For example, a friend of mine once was very lazy about his business. When his daughter was born, now he had a great reason, now his entire life changed and he became a completely different person, and became very productive.
To overcome procrastination and live like you've always wanted justify pain verses pleasure, interrupt your existing patterns and light a fire under your butt, get yourself so motivated that you are an unstoppable force, and that you'll always get those things done that you need to get done. A word like multitasking sounds pretty cool and impressive like it's something you'd want right? It means that you can be making progress on multiple tasks at the same time, this is what your computer does. Your computer can run your web browser, play a video, all while burning a CD. But when it comes to being a productive person multitasking is your biggest enemy. Multitasking will guarantee that you'll constantly be shifting your focus from one thing to another, that you'll have lots of half finished projects and that you'll be taking way more time on activities than you should be. That's why you need to reduce multitasking and overwhelm so that you can make fast, consistent progress.
To reduce overwhelm just simplify, clean up and close down. Here's what I mean. Your life right now is probably too complicated. The way you're doing business online right now is probably too complicated. A good example is that many people will start off their work day checking email or checking various message boards, or look for something new to buy, or something new to read. Instead of actively looking for something to distract you can start every day with a task that you have decided on the day before. Hit the ground running and start that day by writing an article, recording a new video or sending an email.
You need to simplify things. It is okay if you don't get every single news item. It's okay not to watch TV until the evening. It's okay to only check your email a few times a week if that means that you get a lot more done and that you'll be distracted a lot less. Many of us really need to clean things up. Clean [unclear 02.18] so we can think, clean up our computer so that it will run quickly and clean up our businesses. If you have several websites that you know you'll never finish or that you know you'll never launch or make money from then close those old websites down and focus on the new ones that make you money. It's a simple as that, clean up and close down.
Let's figure out how to reduce multitasking because this is a nasty habit to break. It's so easy to watch a video and write an article, and post on a message board, and play on your iPhone, and play on your iPad, and talk on the phone all at the same time. All this guarantees is that you're going to take all day completing all those tasks. It simply doesn't make sense to spend an entire day on something that should only take you five or ten minutes.
So to reduce multitasking you need to focus, you need to close down most of your windows and activities, and only do one thing at a time. If you're checking your Twitter, you're not doing anything else, the only window that's open is your Twitter window. If you're checking email, nothing else is open, just email and likewise if you're writing an article the only thing that's open right now is that screen where you are writing an article.
Get a partner to keep you on track to make sure that you are getting things done every single day and if you have a really nasty habit of multitasking record yourself. Get a screen recorder like Camtasia Recorder or Screen Castomatic, click that record button and now everything that you're doing on your screen is being recorded. This means that you're going to be way less likely to get distracted or switch off to some other tab because you're on camera, you're being recorded and who would record themselves wasting time?
The whole goal here is fast, consistent progress and that means that you sit down, knock out a task, you're done. Sit down, knock out a task, you're done. You're not labouring, you're not slaving, you're not suffering for your work and your results, you're sitting down, getting it done, over and over again. That's how you stop from being overwhelmed and reduce multitasking from lots of quick fixes and behaviour shifts like simplifying, cleaning up, having focus, a partner and recording your screen if you have a really bad multitasking habit.

We all deal with the same road blocks on a regular basis. These might be stress, overwhelmed, confusion, procrastination. These are all parts of human behaviour but luckily there are a few simple activities you can do right now, today, in the next two minutes, to not only remove stress from your life but also enjoy every single thing you do. That way you don't have to resent of force yourself, or just get over it, in order to make money, be productive, you enjoy it and now you're body and mind are in harmony. What you can do is exercise, focus on results and remove clutter.
Exercise is the number one way to de-stress. It doesn't matter what you're worried about, yourself, your family, money, business or any other problem that's on the horizon. Going outside and taking a walk or a run, or playing a sport, or swimming will clear your mind. You'll get yourself closer and closer to that point where all you're thinking about is moving in that forward direction. You can in fact channel your energy, anger and stress into moving your body and tiring yourself out, and waking yourself up.
If you're too stressed about things it probably means that you're not getting enough exercise, and if you're really, really stressed then that means that you need to get exercise and solve whatever is happening in your life. I can tell you that many times I have been confused or lost about what to do and a simple walk, or a simple swim, solves those problems.
To enjoy doing what you do you need to get some kind of results from your activities. When you're at a day job or a salaried position, or an hourly position, you only get paid for your time. Which means that someone who works at Taco Bell who does a bad job gets paid the same amount of money as someone who does a good job, and it's not very motivating. Luckily for you, when you run your own business your time is your own and if you use that time on unproductive or non money making tasks then you won't make any money or you won't get those results.
When you're in business for yourself it might be slow going at first, you might be making less money over time at first but your time is your own and you can have a lot more income potential than you would working an hourly waged job. Think about what results you get and what goals you want to hit for the month. At first these might be income goals, you might have a goal of $1,000 a month or you might think of something that's more attainable such as 100 subscribers this month, 100 articles written this month, 100 listings in Google this month, contacting 100 people this month. There are many goals and numbers you can easily set and exceed that have nothing to do with income.
Finally, to help keep your head clear and to keep having fun, and remove stress, an easy task you can do is remove clutter from your life and from your workspace as well. This relates back to stress. If you have many tasks and many projects that are incomplete, these are taking up space in your conscious mind. Close them out, put them away, that way you don't have to think about it for a very long time. If your desk is filled with stacks of papers and notes, and reminders, books, it's time to clear those out. It's time to have your work desk be as clear as possible, that way when you're trying to get things done you don't have a million things distracting you. It's just what is right in front of you.
To enjoy doing what you do and remove stress from your life, exercise even a tiny bit every day, focus on results and remove clutter. Robert Plank wants to rewire your brain for success at: www.timemanagementoncrack.com

Have you ever been in a situation where you weren't thinking about anything else, where you were completing one single task and you seemed to shut out the rest of the outside world. You were very excited about something on the computer or a project you were working on, or a deadline you had to meet, and you looked up and realised that many hours had passed without your knowledge. This is called a peak state, this is where you are the most productive, you're the happiest and you're getting the most things done within the minimum amount of pain. Getting yourself into a peak state is the secret to getting a lot of things done.
If you're one of those people who has been delaying or procrastinating making joint ventures, getting traffic set up, creating content products or articles then getting into a peak state is going to be the first step towards turning on that productivity switch any time you want. You can do this with three simple steps.
First of all walk or exercise. Think about your reason why and hit the ground running in any task already motivated. My way of getting excited and getting my gears in my brain turning is to simply go outside and take a walk. Any kind of physical activity or exercise will get your blood flowing and change the state in your mind. But many people don't like exercise so a good alternative is to go outside and walk around the block. Studies have shown that any addiction, this could be addictions such as eating, drinking, smoking or even checking social media, any addiction can be fixed by walking around for 10 minutes until the feeling passes. Walking will give you extra clarity, it will help you to focus and in the long run it's good for you.
When you walk around I want you to think about the end goal you want, I want you to think about the reason why you're doing what you're doing. Money alone isn't it, you're trying to earn money for one of several reasons. You might want a better life for your family, a better life for your spouse, a better life for yourself. You might want to travel, go on vacation, retire early, move to a better area. But you have a good goal, a tangible but also emotional reason why you're doing what you're doing. If you think about that then what you're really doing when you are getting things done and being productive is moving your entire life towards that exciting, fun, emotional goal.
By association it is now fun to do those tasks that you might have dreaded previously. Now that you have taken a walk, you have thought about your reason why, now it's time to hit the ground running and get a lot of things done. Here's what I mean, if you sit down and write a blog post, can you two blog posts? If you're creating two articles, can you make ten articles? If you're contacting ten people a day to join your affiliate program or your offer, can't you contact 30 people instead? This is will make sure that you're always going above and beyond, you're not just maintaining, you're not just fulfilling your goal, you're exceeding your goals and every day is better than the day before it.
To get yourself in a peak state walk around, get a great reason why and hit the ground running, and exceed those tasks that you've assigned yourself so that you're getting yourself into an abundance mindset instead of a scarcity mindset. Robert Plank wants to share with you all his productivity and time saving techniques, plus his profit boosting systems, at www.timemanagementoncrack.com

If you can't even keep yourself in a productive state, stay focused and keep doing things consistently you're going to have a very tough time making progress building your own business, online or offline. That's why it's very important to get focused and you can accomplish that goal by retraining yourself for 30 days, getting excited about what you do and closing down various windows.
I honestly don't think that there is a way to instantly retrain yourself to always be focused over night. The fact is if you're used to watching TV while you're trying to get things done, if you're used to your phone always ringing or beeping at you, if you're used to switching back and forth between multiple windows then you've trained your brain to think and behave a certain way this whole time. What you're going to have to do is treat this like any other habit change or any other kind of addiction.
It will be a thirty day process and if you start today and make a point to act a different way then you will have to consciously change this behaviour for the first several days. After about a month you should begin thinking differently and thinking in a more linear, compartmentalised and focused way. What you need to start doing is training yourself to close down all distractions, turn off your phone, close the office door, close down any browser or other program windows you have so that nothing pops up, nothing interrupts you, you are always in a state of absolute focus and only moving in one particular direction at a time.
One thing that has helped me to remain focused, keep my eye on the prize, always doing one thing at a time is do things that are actually exciting. If you find yourself always distracted, always looking to do something else, that means that the task your completing right now is not the most fun task to be completing at this very moment. That's kind of sad because I know that if you're thinking about building a business compared to playing video games you're tempted to play video games because if you play a video game right now you will instantly have fun. But, playing a video game will not make you any extra money will it?
We need to think a little bit differently and think that right now I'm going to be building my business. I'm going to be building my business because this business will allow me to earn more money today which means that I can take a vacation and a vacation will be a lot more fun than a video game. Now along the way I think that if you just make some small changes such as closing out windows you're not using, that will make a big difference.
Most people I know who are unproductive have their email and have Facebook open almost 24 hours a day. That means that if a new message comes in they instantly get distracted and their focus is instantly shifted away. If their friends post some fun pictures, now they're going to go over and like or comment on those pictures instead of doing the things they know they should be doing. At the end of the day you know if you're getting distracted, you know if you're doing tasks that you shouldn't be doing it. It's up to you, you're the only one that can make this very important change in your life.
Retrain yourself for 30 days, get excited about what you do and close as many windows down as possible so that you're only completing one thing at a time. Robert Plank wants to solve your focus problem starting today at: www.timemanagementoncrack.com

When you're trying to get your own business started online you're going to find that you have to juggle, or balance, or switch between multiple parts of your life. I know that many of us have been in the situation where we have had to work a job and be in school at the same time, or maybe work a job and build our own business. Perhaps work a job, be in school and build our own business at the same time, and maybe even support and care for a family. So how do you keep it all straight? How do you keep it all organised and stay productive, and prevent yourself from being overwhelmed, and be happy in the process, while having the best life possible?
There are a few easy things you can do. Finish assignments early, leave work at work and complete your business activities in the morning to make sure that you're different lives don't mix or intercept. The number one productivity tip I have for any student, for anyone who has tasks assigned to them weeks ahead of time is to finish all assignments early. The typical student mentality is to get an assignment assigned to them, wait a few weeks and then complete that assignment the night before it's due, or even the morning of. This is how most students are trained to be productive. But if you are able to break that pattern and write an essay or complete a project the same day it was assigned to you, well that means that you are putting in the same amount of time and effort but you're not stressed, you're not rushed and you can more accurately manage your time and plan for the future.
Think about it. If something's assigned on Monday and you completed it on Monday, now you have the rest of the week freed up to focus on those other things that really matter, and although it might seem that you're going too above and beyond, trust me on this. Finish any assignments early, the same day or the next day if possible that way its completed and you don't have to worry about it ever again.
The next thing I want you to do is to leave your work at work. That means that you have a job and you might have a computer, and you might have a desk, or an office. You have different tasks or projects that are assigned to you. You might be tempted to take your work home with you or think about your work while you're at home. The problem with this is that you end up multi tasking and becoming too distracted. What you need to do is make it so that anything that's assigned to you at work remains at work. That way once you're away from that office or away from that desk you're off duty and you don't have to think about it ever again.
Speaking of not thinking about things, let's talk about building your own business and getting your own freedom because the whole reason why you go to school in the first place is to have a better life and possibly a better job. The whole reason why you're building your own business is to escape that job so that now you can be in control of your own destiny. I've seen far too many people try to comingle their business and their employed day job. What they end up doing is using their work computer, that someone else pays for, during time when someone else pays them, to set up their very own websites. The problem with this is that it makes you, once again, not very productive. Multi tasking is never a good idea and it's a very easy and quick way to get fired from your job in case your employer ever found out.
This might happen because of an internet firewall at work logging your activities or your employer might walk in while you're doing something you're not supposed to do. The easy answer to this is to build your internet business at home, in the morning before doing anything else. This means you'll be exited to start every day, you'll be excited to wake up 10. 20 or even 30 minutes before you normally do, you can complete lots of things in a very pressed amount of time and then leave your business running on auto pilot throughout the day. You don't have to check your email throughout the day, your business will still be there.
Go to your day job and leave that work there, if you go to school go there, finish your tasks and leave that there, and that way your various lives will be separate and you'll be able to enjoy your free time, time with friends and family. That's how you balance a day job, school, internet marketing and family.
Finish assignments early, leave work at work and complete your business building activities in the morning or late at night but don't mix them. Robert Plank wants to help you break free, become more productive, get things done and get your life back on track at: www.timemanagementoncrack.com
